ALTERED PERCEPTIONS

ALTERED PERCEPTIONS explores space through a sensory experience that manipulates perception and reveals the relationship between sound, light, touch, and space. A site-specific, evolving multimedia installation, it induces hallucinations through physical sensations, psychoacoustics, and optical effects.

The work alters perception, drawing inspiration from sensory deprivation, stroboscopes, and Brion Gysin’s Dreamachine. Darkness enhances clarity, making low light essential. The immersive space deepens the spectator’s connection to sonic vibrations, merging sound with touch and vision.

Comprising two nested spaces, the installation layers sound and vibration, enveloping visitors in an electrifying environment. Infra-sounds guide them into an immersive experience where sound materialises through movement, smoke, and energy, revealing itself as a dynamic, living process.
